West Ham linked with Mini Mourinho as Slav replacement

JulianWest Ham are ready to make a move for young German coach Julian Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for Slaven Bilic claim the Daily Express today.

The 30-year-old is nicknamed the “Mini Mourinho”, has taken Hoffenheim to fourth place in the Bundisliga, and is rated as one of the best young coaches in Europe.

The former 1860 Munich and Augsburg youngster was forced to retire from playing at the age of 19 through persistent knee injuries, took over at Hoffenheim two years ago and steered the club clear of relegation, and then into fourth place at the end of last season.  Nagelsmann was highly touted to be Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement at Bayern Munich last month, when the former Chelsea manager was axed by the Bundisliga giants, before Jupp Heynckes was appointed until the end of the season.

The search for a successor for Slaven Bilic has intensified since the embarrassing loss to Brighton last Friday night.

  1. I read this elswehere earlier, I don’t know much about him to be honest but if he could replicate the way he has transformed Hoffenheim’s chance to the PL then could be worth a punt, presuming of course that he wants to come, at the end of the day if he isn’t getting the Munich job whats left for him in Germany its a one team league.

  2. Vorsprung derk tecknik ??
We all know about Germans , just ask basil 😂😂
But efficiency and technological knowhow are bread into the German mentality !!
He defiantly is worth a punt compared the present clueless mob !! And he will be cheap 😉
Perfect sully scenario lol !! 😉

  3. Have I missed something? Everybody now seems to be saying Bilic has two games to turn things round. Is this just speculation? I can’t think I would have missed a story headlined ‘Sullivan changes his mind’ ‘Sullivan admits he is wrong’ ‘Sullivan says got you all there – just joking’ ‘Did I say three years? Silly me just a slip of the tongue’. I have a horrible feeling he won’t change his tune until we are rock bottom. Even worse, as happened last year, we fluke a few results & he is safe – until he next time.

    • Good business plan to line up candidates in case Bilic fails in the next two games

    • h64 the papers often say these things but I am not sure of whether the chairmen have given him an ultimatum or not, I somehow doubt it based on past interractions and also that Sully said he was safe until the end of the season. If we get drubbed by Spurs reserves which is a distinct possibility that might change things, Palace can’t believe their luck I bet if Slav is still in charge.

  4. Nagelsmann has been brilliant for Hoffienhem but he has been mentioned in line w Bayern Munich for the Summer. He started as a scout then got a chance to manage at 28 and has taken them to CL and great finishes over 2 years but I’m not sure he would come. I would love to have him come but 2 games or not Bilic has had 2 more games how many times. And I feel for Bilic the board hopefully ate finding a replacement bc its enetivable he doesn’t look as he wants to be here so let him go w some money would be best for all
