The Evening Standard have claimed that West Ham are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea. The Hammers have already started preparing for “life after Declan Rice” and our Supremo wants to replace him with Gallagher.
While he has been a regular for the Blues of late, the England international could still be shown the exit door ahead of next season.
The 23-year-old’s contract at the club runs until the summer of 2025. However, he could be subject to a move if the right bid arrives. Chelsea have spent an absolute fortune on signing players in the last two windows. And, they will have to offload more than a few players to balance things out (FFP anyone?) before heading into the market for even more new players.
Moyes has identified Gallagher as a potential replacement for Rice. The Chelsea star might not be an out-and-out defensive midfielder but he will surely bolster our midfield. Lucas Paqueta would probably be happier playing in a deeper role and as a result, the 23-year-old would easily fit into our team as a central midfielder.
