West Ham United and AS Roma have expressed interest in Villarreal striker Alexander Sorloth, according to Spanish outlet AS.

However, both clubs seem hesitant to pursue the transfer further at this stage.

The giant Norwegian forward who stands at a 6ft 5in has Premier League experience having signed for Crystal Palace for a reported fee of £9 million in 2018.

Villarreal have set a high asking price of €38 million, matching Sorloth’s release clause, for any potential deal.

This perhaps is justified after his excellent season in La Liga, scoring 26 goals and laying on 6 assists in 34 matches.

West Ham and Roma have only made inquiries about Sorloth’s situation and haven’t submitted any formal offers.

The hefty price tag appears to be the primary reason for the lack of concrete action from both clubs. Sorloth joined Villarreal for just €10 million in July 2023.

The report also suggests that West Ham and Roma might revisit their interest later in the transfer window if their striker targets fall through.

The Italian league not the premier league so how goals means dislike squat at the end of the day. I remember an Italian striker called Scamammac who was a right Scam for the Hammers

La Liga is the Spanish League Marko… but yes, that form might really translate to the Premier League as we’ve seen many times before.
