Michail Antonio has made huge progress since the December accident that could have taken his life – leg fractures that required surgery meant his was a long term injury and may fans had privately expressed the opinion that any 35, Antonio would never be seen on the pitch at London Stadium again.
We’ve marvelled at news of his recovery and the images of his gym training as the Hammers’ number nine struggled to get fit in his stated aim to play again before the season is out.
And in a major West Ham announcement today, Michail Antonio will be pitch side before the game tonight so that Hammers’ fans can express their affection for the club’s record scorer and show support for Miley as he battles to get his fitness back.
Apparently the club will be asking supporters to be in their seats ten minutes early to welcome back the Hammers number nine and show him London Stadium lurve before the kick off against Newcastle United.
