West Ham are making “frantic” moves to sign players as the winter window heads towards the halfway mark.

Sadly, it seems the club is no closer to finding the players they need either on loan or permanently with David Sullivan, David Moyes and Tim Steidten looking everywhere.

As we understand the position they are looking firstly for defenders whilst a striker remains on the list of priorities. That position is not quite as critical as it once was given Jarrod Bowen‘s form and an earlier than expected recovery from injury now on the cards.

He is expected to miss only the Third Round FA Cup replay games against Bristol City next  Tuesday and Premier League action against Sheffield United next weekend.

But we are led to believe by sources inside the club that Nayef Aguerd’s future remains uncertain as there are worries over a possible lack of commitment to the club following his departure for Afcon having recovered from sickness “just in time.”

Ben Johnson’s likely departure will also need to be covered because although his form was not the greatest, he could cover in two positions at the back.

We understand too the club are looking for players at right and left back with our main source telling Claret and Hugh exclusively: “It’s a very difficult window  and we are working frantically to find players given our difficulties at the moment.”

I think Striker is as urgent as a defender. No team should have to rely on just one striker who by trade isn’t even a strikwr
