West Ham/Man City club connections, past and present

There have been quite a few players who have represented both West Ham United and Manchester City over the years. See how many you can remember.

Goalkeepers – Perry Suckling, Joe Hart, David James.

Defenders – Tal Ben Haim, Pablo Zabaleta, Tyrone Mears, Wayne Bridge.

Midfielders – Patrick Leonard, Samir Nasri, Marc-Vivien Foe, Kevin Horlock, James Cumming, Johnny Payne, Mark Ward, Eyal Berkovic, Steve Lomas, Michael Hughes, Ian Bishop, Trevor Sinclair.

Strikers – Paulo Wanchope, Bill Davidson, Trevor Morley, Carlos Tevez, Craig Bellamy, Phil Woosnam, Justin Fashanu, Clive Allen, Lionel Watson, David Cross, George Webb.

I was particularly tickled to see old “Psycho” himself, David Cross, who incidentally was the last player to score four goals in a single league match for West Ham for almost 40 years , until big Mikey Antonio did the same in a match against Norwich City a couple of seasons ago

David Cross, a Hammer at heart.

Club legends Malcolm Allison and John Bond were West Ham players who both went on to manage City. Stuart Pearce played for both clubs, and has been an assistant coach with West Ham.  And the non-legendary Manuel Pellegrini has also managed both clubs.
