West Ham/Man City ref’s shocking Cornet decision

|

West Ham fans – along with the squad and David Moyes – could be forgiven for feeling pretty upset when the name Andy Madley popped up as Saturday afternoon’s choice of referee for the match at the London Stadium.

For he  will be remembered as the guy who was responsible for the near criminal disallowance of Maxwel Cornet’s goal against Chelsea for a very innocent incident between Blues keeper Édouard Mendy and Jarrod Bowen.

It was one of the most infuriating decisions ever  and refused to stick by his original decision of not ruling it out, doing so after looking at the pitch side TV monitor.

The guy owes the Irons big time because that truly was as bad a decision as those who witnessed it will ever see and David Moyes described it as the worst VAT decision yet.
