West Ham United are contemplating a farewell to veteran goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, with the summer transfer window presenting a potential exit route. The 39-year-old shot-stopper’s contract runs through next season, but Alphonse Areola’s assured displays have firmly established him as the Hammers’ number one.
Areola, has impressed since arriving in East London. His consistent performances have pushed Fabianski, a mainstay between the posts for several seasons, onto the substitutes’ bench.
With Areola seemingly set and Fabianski nearing the twilight of his career, West Ham might see this summer as the opportune moment to offload the Polish goalkeeper. A transfer fee would provide them with valuable resources for potential reinforcements elsewhere in the squad.
West Ham’s final decision hinges on several factors. Will a suitable offer materialise for Fabianski? Could the Hammers value his experience as a reliable backup option for Areola?
While an official announcement is yet to be made, the writing appears to be on the wall for Fabianski. Areola’s emergence and Fabianski’s age suggest a summer exit is a strong possibility. The coming weeks will reveal West Ham’s definitive stance on the veteran goalkeeper’s future.
“Areola Era Dawns” Erm he was the first choice keeper last season.
Worst goalkeeper in the premiership for the last couple of seasons
Spurs fan…. obviously
Fabianski that is
You are clearly a complete moron! Especially as we are contemplating purchasing the Sheffield discarded keeper who was truly dreadful and on a par with the Burnley keeper. Fabianski is far better than Areola will ever be.
