West Ham player released by mutual consent

HendrieWest Ham have released full-back Stephen Hendrie by mutual consent. The 22-year-old, who joined from Hamilton in 2015, has had loan spells at Southend United and Blackburn Rovers where he made eight appearances last season.

Hendrie progressed through Hamilton’s youth system and made his senior debut for the club aged 16 in July 2011. The left-back went on to make over 100 appearances for the Accies and joined West Ham for a reported £1million in July 2015 after signing a pre-contract.

Hendrie never made a first-team breakthrough at West Ham but was an unused substitute in their Europa League qualifying matches against Birkirkara in the Europa League.

The Celtic supporter has four caps for Scotland U21 after progressing through the age groups from the U17s.
