West Ham Players Awards predictions

|

AntonioThe West Ham United Player Awards 2017, in aid of The Academy, will take place on tonight at The InterContinental London hotel hosted by Tony Cottee and Bianca Westwood.

Supporters have paid up to £330 per head to be present at tonight’s ceremony.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to Bobby Moore with his family present to accept the posthumous award.

Michail Antonio will win the Hammer of the year award just pipping Manuel Lanzini into the HOTY runner-up place who has received a late run of votes after his goal against Spurs on Friday.

The top goalscorer award will go to Michail Antonio with 9 goals scored this season just one more than Manuel Lanzini on eight.

Undoubtedly the goal of the season award will go to Andy Carroll for his overhead scissor kick goal against Crystal palace.

Save of the season should go to Darren Randolph with his save against Liverpool the most likely voted by fans.

I am hoping Pedro Obiang could be rewarded with an award for the Best individual performance of the season for his game against Southampton but Michail Antonio has a good chance of another award with his performance against Crystal Palace.

West Ham’s win over Chelsea in the league cup should land the Team performance of the season.

I am hoping that fellow team mates award James Collins the Players’ Player of the Year award but it is a hard one to call and Michail Antonio could pick up a hat trick instead.

Not much competition for Signing of the Season but my money is on Arthur Masuaku as the most sensible choice.

The Dylan Tombides award for the West Ham Academy player of the year could go to Jahmal Hector-Ingram who scored in the U23 Playoff semi-final last night. It was won by Declan Rice last year who has recently broken through to the first team.

Last year the Young Hammer of the Year went to Reece Burke while at Bradford City so I am hoping this year it is the turn of Josh Cullen who picked up four awards at the Bradford players award ceremony but maybe Toni Martinez is also worth a shout.

I might be in a minority but I don’t think Antonio has been exceptional this season, probably because he has played in too many different positions which has caused his overall game to suffer, not to say he is not one of our most effective players because he is but judging him from last season to this I would say he has regressed a little bit in particular his defensive work, for me the stand out player has been Obiang who has put in a number of very impressive performances closely followed by Lanzini who has got better and better as the season has gone on.

I can’t believe the Players Awards is held before the end of the season. They should have this after the final game. What would have happened if we were still in danger of relegation?
Last season’s awards ended up with Carroll and Randolph going on a bender.
    West Ham unprofessional again.

Some of you really do just want to find anything to beat the club with when to be brutally honest you are talking complete tosh.
