West Ham players return from short break

West Ham players reported back to Rush Green yesterday to brave to elements as Storm Dennis batters the UK.

The first team squad were given five days off after the postponement of the Manchester City Premier League game at the Etihad last Sunday. Many flew abroad with their families to get some Sun and some rest ahead the remaining games of the season to fight for survival.

The Hammers now have four days to prepare for the rescheduled West Ham away game on Wednesday night in Manchester with a 7.30 pm kick-off time. The squad will continue to train today in the rain where possible travelling up to Manchester on Tuesday.

Felipe Anderson is expected to re-join the squad and could make a substitute appearance on Wednesday as he battles to regain his fitness after his back injury. Andriy Yarmolenko could also make the trip as he nears a full recovery fromĀ  a thigh injury

Moyes is thought to have almost a full squad to choose from with the exception of Jack Wilshere who recently underwent a hernia operation which will keep him out for some time.
