West Ham ratings v Cherries

West Ham ratings v Cherries

Areola: Three or four top saves on a busy night 8

Johnson: Only saw him beaten once and looked very good indeed with Coufal suspended 7

Mavropanos: Looked very good at the heart of defence for most of the 90 minutes 7

Zouma: Composed and stead – did well 7

Emerson: Anonymous as an attacking force but nothing much got by him 6

Alvarez:  Good to see him back – maybe a little rusty but did little wrong 6

Phillips: Disastrous start in giving away the opening goal and clearly needs games after his Man City experience 4

Soucek: Looked a better player pushed forward and one of his better games this season 6

Ward-Prowse: Netted the penalty and one or two decent forward runs but set pieces were average 6

Kudus: Changed the game with a right win run which produced the penalty and a real handful in the second half 8

Bowen: Still not quite back to his best after injury but full of second half running and energy 6

Ings: Barely noticed him 3

  1. Tbh, think it’s harsh to attack Phillips and give him a 4 for the first goal, and give zouma a 7 with no negative comments, when zouma was probably as much, if not moreso at fault for the goal. Don’t think Phillips was up to speed with us by any means, but the whole team was shocking all game, and don’t think it’s a good look to go in on him just because its his first game

  2. Agree with the poster above..I was at the game last night and i thought Zouma was shocking and more his fault with the goal than Phillips.
I don’t rate Zouma as much as you do Hugh.Although his passing and heading is good he is also slow, awkward and cumbersome.
