West Ham ready to compete for Benfica midfielder

West Ham will attempt to battle Arsenal, Liverpool and Watford for Italy international Bryan Cristante in the Summer claims a report. Tuttosport claims the Benfica midfielder, currently on loan at Atalanta, has emerged as a £27million target for a number of Premier League clubs.

Cristante has impressed this season, scoring ten goals in 33 appearances across all competitions. The 23-year-old is rated as one of the best young midfielders in Europe with a number of clubs regularly scouting him.

Inter Milan and Juventus could yet also make moves for the ex-AC Milan youngster. Atalanta are expected to take up an option to buy Cristante for just £2million this summer and then look to cash in immediately for a huge profit, with the intense interest sure to drive Cristante’s asking price through the roof.
