The following season, 2012/13, he made 33 Premier League appearances. 30-year-old O’Brien earned a recall to the Republic of Ireland senior squad in 2012 and went on to make 105 first-team appearances in Claret and Blue, scoring three goals.
Loanees Victor Moses, Emmanuel Emenike and Alex Song will return to their parent clubs at the end of their season-long loan deals. Young Academy professionals Elliot Lee, Leo Chambers, Amos Nasha, Nathan Mavila and Jordan Brown will also depart the club after not being offered new contracts. Hammer Scholars Tim Brown, 19, and Clark Bogard and Ross Elsom, both 18, have also been released.

  1. Finally Elliot Lee is going & the on running saga of whether he will ever make it as a first team regular can be laid to rest.Imho he was hever going to make it but there was a belief he was good enough to figure in our starting XI in the Premier League according to some wiser fans than me.I could never see it personally.Good luck to all the released player though, enjoy Sunderland Joey lol

  2. Good luck to all of them in the future.

    • Copy that. I especially wish JOB all the best as I felt he did a very good job considering, and was a good back up in the last season. I hope all the young players find a future in the game…
