West Ham scouting revelation

Claret & Hugh has learned today that West Ham will have scouts in attendance for Chelsea’s final league game of the season against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

While this would not ordinarily cause a stir, the attendance of West Ham scouts in West London is clearly not for tactical reasons, given that the season is at an end. However, before excited Hammers fans begin to speculate that it might be to run the rule over Conor Gallagher, it is also understood that scouts were present for Bournemouth’s penultimate Premier League game of the season against Brentford.

Therefore, it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to deduce that the Hammers are scouting an AFC Bournemouth player ahead of next season. While Dominic Solanke is the obvious candidate, don’t rule out Lloyd Kelly. According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal to take Kelly to Newcastle is “really advanced,” but don’t rule out a late bid by the Hammers.

Of course, it could all be much ado about nothing, but it is interesting to see West Ham scouting so thoroughly just before the start of a transfer window.

Might as well have kept Moyes if we’re going to sign this average player who can’t score against the top teams.
The drivel being leaked out from the club via you is just the same old same old West Ham that’s a vehicle for filling slug Sullivan’s pocket and a 10th place finish if we’re lucky. Why is this average player at Bournemouth? Because he’s not a player who will regularly scores lots of goals season after season and who will look like a second-rate Antonio against the top 6.
Yup, the Spanish Moyes except he cares not a jot about our club. Hope he and the slug clash cos that would be so much fun.

Why are you talking such rubbish? If Solanke can score 19 goals for Bournemouth think how many he would score for west ham united? He’s a better option than Ivan Toney as Toney is 28 and would want £150k per week on top of transfer fee.

We’re finally scouting like an actual, proper professional club would, instead of just letting the owner’s son find players on YouTube. Progress.

Sorry but what is the point in scouting players like solankie and Gallagher…ffs its not as if they play in South America..everyone sees them weeknin we out .. they know what they csn do ….🤡

Solanke gets you a goal every 2 games. Not a bad return. Better than Antonio. Think these players were being linked with were all Moyes picks, suited to Moyes style though. We all know Moyes wanted the established home grown players. I would have thought Lopetegui might have a different choice of player. I might be wrong. Maybe he just takes what he’s given.

I would just like to say thank you Gonzo for stepping up after the gutting loss of dear Hughie, with whom I enjoyed discussions for years. Same goes to Kate, heartfelt support. I am of an age and love the chat about WH but not pleased with recent personal attacks and even abuse to fellow supporters like you. Unwarranted and unwelcome for me, I prefer a bit of maturity and joint interest even if opinions differ. Thank you fellow Irons of C&H.

This needs to be a significant rebuild, so we will need to be very clever and prudent. The club is not in a position to bring in expensive players. We could have used a player like Solanke this campaign. I’d like to think we were also running the rule over Alex Scott while we were there. Should have grabbed him last summer but too slow and stupid and monkish to get him.
