Dharmesh Sheth claims that there are options that “remain live” for Kurt Zouma at West Ham United after his failed medical at Shabab Al-Ahli. It appears that a resolution is still being discussed between the two clubs including a loan deal and a contract termination, as covered by Martin a couple of days ago.

The Irons are exploring various options to offload defender Kurt Zouma after his failed medical at Shabab Al-Ahli.

The Hammers are keen to terminate the Frenchman’s contract or find a suitable loan deal to facilitate his departure. Zouma’s high wages have become a financial burden for the club, particularly after their significant summer spending.

The arrival of Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo has further limited Zouma’s playing opportunities, making his exit a priority for West Ham. While the club are determined to find a solution, the process has been complicated by the defender’s recent medical issues.

With the transfer window drawing to a close, West Ham will need to act swiftly to resolve the Zouma situation and finalize their squad for the upcoming season. What is clear is that Kurt has played his last game in Claret and Blue: How the club resolve his exit remains an issue. If West Ham cannot even give him away then the cheque book will take a further battering to see him off the books.

Don’t players have insurance against career ending injuries? People like pro secure? Time for Kudos to make a claim?

Why do West Ham need to act swiftly if according to the article it is clear he has played his last game for the club? If that’s the case he won’t be in the announced squad. Getting the money sorted out before the transfer window would be useful, but we have done a lot of business and there will be another transfer window in January. Zouma’s agent is unlikely to just roll over on this. Things like this happen. We don’t want to pay a salary to someone who is not going to play. Kurt won’t want to have to come into training to further damage his knees. Somewhere out there is a compromise but how quickly that is agreed, who knows?
