West Ham United are set to receive a welcome financial boost as Said Benrahma’s permanent transfer to Lyon edges closer to completion

Lyon to Activate Purchase Clause: The French club is prepared to exercise their purchase option on Benrahma, securing his services for the pre-agreed fee of £12.3 million.

Previously restricted by financial limitations, Lyon has now obtained the necessary clearance to proceed with the transfer.

This sale will significantly increase West Ham’s summer transfer budget. With the potential sale of Flynn Downes also on the horizon, their transfer war chest could reach a total of £75 million.

Sky Sports’ chief transfer reporter Dharmesh Sheth says the deal will be completed this weekend, which is great news; as this Benrahma deal is crucial for generating much needed funds to top up our limited summer budget of £51.5 million, allowing us to pursue new signings.

Nevertheless, the question has to be asked..why such a small budget for such a large re-build?

Benrahma couldn’t mark fresh air last season and avoided the ball as much as he could. He was like a man with the Plague and absolutely useless to West Ham. Good riddance!!

Stop selling players until we have suitable replacements. Seriously – another January transfer window!! Benrahma is a good player with prem experience. Put the right players around him and who knows. Part of the BMW attacking 3 at Brentford and he looked a very good player.

Same old story we get all the chat about what we are going to do and who we are going to try and bring in to take the club to the next level and it all sounds good then things change we don’t have the money to get top players to join the club how can that be given the amount of money the club has made in profits this last season

Why is our budget so low with at least 3 billionaires on our board

    • Old Git says:

You are only allowed to spend what your club earn. It doesn’t matter how rich the owners are…. totally irrelevant

  • Phil McDonald says:

The January loan fees need to be added too. They were effectively advance payments towards the transfers.
