West Ham Set for Second Departure as Defender Eyes Serie A Switch

West Ham could be set to offload another player sooner rather than later—if reports from Sky Sports Italy are to be believed.

Rumours began circulating yesterday that AS Roma had identified Hammers centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos as a summer transfer target. That speculation was followed up last night by Sky, who insist The Giallorossi are serious about signing the Greek international.

The news comes hot on the heels of reports that Roma are also pressing ahead with plans to sign last season’s on-loan striker Evan Ferguson.

Mavropanos was brought to the club by former director of football Tim Steidten, joining from Stuttgart in a ÂŁ17m deal. However, the ex-Arsenal man has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot under multiple West Ham managers.

With Jean-Clair Todibo arriving permanently and the club actively pursuing another central defender, it seems the writing may be on the wall for Dinos at the London Stadium.

The 26-year-old’s exit would add to what’s becoming a major upheaval under Graham Potter. With Mohammed Kudus departing for Spurs, and the likes of Emerson, Edson Álvarez, and now Mavropanos all heading for the door—the domino effect could now be about to happen.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Relegation beckons next season. Sullivan and Brady you’ve ruined our club.

Something seriously wrong with our club
Don’t seem to be able to keep players happy
Time for a change at the top !

  • Ted Fenton says:

I will be sorry to see Mav go, sure he made a few mistakes but was just in need of better coaching. Alas Potter is either not able to coach or doesn’t want to. His quote that everyone is for sale except Bowen an AWB was ridiculous and will come back to bite him.
No doubt he will be sold at a loss

saved millions in wages for useless has beens, shipped out somebody decent in first season then the going gets tough he disintegrates, keeping the teams spine and those who want to be there, fantastic crop of youngsters tried at prem and champ level. A couple of additions and the team will surprise many who wont anything about our new players. Think positive you doom and gloom merchants

Jeez this is truly squeaky bum time isn’t it? Let’s hope Earthy, Searles, Potts et al can step up. Even Callum ‘sick note’ Wilson is looking a good signing at this stage….

  • Alan carroll says:

West Ham are fast becoming the joke team of the Premiership. At the rate players are leaving (with no replacements) it looks like a team of reserves for the first match.

Same could have been said about all our new arrivals last year. Too many and all strangers.

Time for a plan to come together. Irons and fingers crossed.

Great news let’s hope we get a decent fee

  • Hammerry says:

So many players going or already gone, let’s hope there is a number of great players on their way in as it seems like one way traffic so far and our budget has barely changed despite the mass exodus of players
