West Ham set for triple record

|

Record

West Ham has already broken one record  this season by recording their 15th league match unbeaten in The Premier League at home at the Boleyn ground and the Hammers appear to odds on to break two more Premier League club records by the end of the season.

We have have some way to beat our all time record unbeaten run  at home set between 1980 and 1982. We went 20 games unbeaten in the 1980-1981 season with a further 7 games at the start of 1981-1982 season. That record of 27 games unbeaten at home might stand for some time yet. We previously recorded 14 games unbeaten at home during the historic 1985/1986 season in the top flight when we finished third in the old division one league.

Our biggest points total ever in the Premier League was 57 points set in the 1998/1999 season under Harry Redknapp when we finished 5th and qualified for the Intertoto cup. We are currently on 56 points with four games and 12 points to play for, it would be extremely disappointing not to set a new club record for our largest points tally in the Premier League this season.

Our goal difference is probably the biggest improvement in our history of the Premier League. Our best goal difference at the end of a season is -1 again set in 1998/1999 season. Our current goal difference of +13 is set to smash our best ever difference in the past 24 years since the inception of the Premier League.

You need to go to Wetpants aka WHTID to find their resident trainspotter/Statman.There is one on there knows everything stat related. He is a walking, talking filling cabinet of useless info lol

Another thing that I noticed last night when looking at the league table (always nice to be looking at the top half for a change) – is that our aggregate of goals per game (for and against) is currently 100, which is only bettered by Everton at 101. So I guess you might reasonably argue that we give good value for money entertainment-wise, even if it is sometimes at the expense of the result.

We often accused Sam (rightly in my opinion) of “respecting the point” too often. It’s ironic that we’ve drawn so many games this season, although I can’t remember too many of them being as a result of settling for the point!

Would be interesting to know what our record number of draws is per season? We’ve also had seven “2-2’s” this year. Is there a “stato” out there somewhere that knows if this is another potential record for us this season lol….

This is also the highest amount of goals we have scored in the Premier League era. We sit on 57 goals with 4 games still left to play. Our previous highest was 52, which we have done on 3 occasions.

To finish with 60+ points and 60+ goals and a top 7 placing. Plus losing less than 10 games.
Don’t come much better than that for a manager in his first year at the club and his first year in the Prem.

    Amazing season.

    Change of subject
Wonder how Woy feels now Vardy has pleaded guilty,
Wonder if Woy will try having a little chat behind the scenes to help his new boy ?
He must get at least 1 extra game banned after Costa case to look like its correct,
Shame because we could do with him playing against our rivals
Wengers back on his happy pills talking rubbish same as Van Gall and Klopp thank Christ we got Slav
    Signing of the year

Woy probably can’t remember what he even said. Vardy has to get two games now and possibly three. lets see how they cope.

People will always find something to moan about! But just imagine, at the end of last season, or indeed the beginning of this one, if you had said that the moans would be about not winning the FA cup and possibly not qualifying for Europe.

As the team’s performance has gone up, so have the topics of the moans.

When Slaven took over, who on here would not have been happy with a top eight finish?

It has been a fantstic season. Full stop!

Best season sinc 85/86,no doubt about it.We should all enjoy it till the last day as who knows what’s round the corner, lol.Pity that some fans can’t enjoy it as I have but instead still find faults & reasons to moan.Maybe that is just their personality to find the negatives in life.

What a DIffrence a year makes,
We made such a major mistake not offering Hippo a new contract
I wonder if the sucide rate has risen in Sunderland,
The stats tells us most of the story,I bet we set a record for attendance to
But more importantly and I don’t know how you could test it is we have been provided with more Entertainment then any other season,
    Great to be a hammer
