Pictures and details of Guido Rodriguez free transfer to West Ham have been leaked online.
An X (Twitter) account called DS Sports Argentina has managed to get some behind the scenes information and photographs ahead of the big announcement expected this morning.
Quite a scoop for the socila media account who reported; “The 30-year-old Argentine will have his first experience in the Premier League, coming from Real Betis as a free agent. Contract until 2027.”
The world cup winner completed his medical and the majority of his press commitments yesterday but missed the intended double reveal with Niclas Füllkrug yesterday. There were some fine details remaining on the free agents new Hammers contract which are now thankfully sorted but the club were never unduly concerned.
Rodriguez signing is expected to prompt something of a midfield re-shuffle at West Ham which could now see the club looking to move some players in the other direction.
DS Sports Argentina?!! 🤔
Has David Sullivan got a South American X account 🤔😂😂😂
Er.. i did say he had already signed yesterday despite whetstone as usual trying to cast a little doubt he had as always..very strange behaviour towards his own fanbase
Good to see we are going with the redbull/ brighton recruitment policy. How many 30 somethings in the squad now.will be tired out by Xmas.
we need to get some quality and depth in the squad to take us to the next level and make us a more attractive proposal to the next level of player, we’re not going to be able to convince young hot prospects until we are a proven force in europe season in season out – I know we’re not the same and never will be, but think about Man City, they got players to take them to the next tier, then the next tier, then the next until they are where they are and can attract the best of the best…. we’re building here, just gotta stick with the plan
Totally agree, i think the two ‘oldies’ are nice stabilizers to go with the youngsters, espcially if we add Wan Bissaka and a decent centre half. A brilliant weekend after a ‘few doubts’ in the weeks before. As long as they are given time and we can see some improvements up to say Xmas everything looking good. In my view Steidten is the best thing Sully has ever done. COYH
Bill Shankly, who might have known a little bit about football, once said ‘You win nothing with kids’.
What brilliant role models this 30 yo and Niclas Fullkrug at 31, are for our own young players and they bring a winning mentality.
These players should drive us to the European places and the young players you crave will be queueing up to join. I feel sure that Earthy and Potts will be given plenty of game time this season.
If we can get a deal done for Soucek to Besiktas quick then use that money to go get KWP and tell Manure to do one over the Bissaka deal
The “knee jerk” reaction to having one of the oldest teams in the PL would be to have the youngest. That would likely yield similar results. Having a balance of youth and experience, coupled with a plan to mentor the younger players to replace those older ones as and when their contracts expire, is more likely to provide consistent improvement. Of course that depends on other factors such as agreement across management, coaching and technical leadership. I disagree with those that suggest WHU can never achieve what Man. City have. Prior to 2010 their record was nothing to shout about, now it is the envy of the PL and WH could certainly be in the mix the way they are going. It is a fragile balance and that is part of the lure of football (our football).
