West Ham Source Speaks Out on Toon Striker Transfer

West Ham have once again been linked with a move for Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson, who could be available as a free agent at the end of the season.

It seems like the Hammers have been linked with a move for our bogeyman ever since the player scored a hat-trick in Bournemouth’s 4-3 win against the Irons way back in 2015. Hardly a transfer window goes by without us being linked with Michail Antonio’s best mate, so it was hardly surprising to see the rumours resurface today (covered earlier by Martin).

Rather sheepishly, Claret & Hugh contacted a trusted source within the club to ask about Wilson for the umpteenth time, and the reply was not surprising: “He’s a great player, but he’s always injured,” was the latest from a top London Stadium insider.

To be fair, it was precisely the same response we got back in January, but there is one big difference. During the last transfer window, West Ham would have had to pay a fee for the forward and at least match his wages at the Magpies.

However, in the summer, Wilson would be available on a free transfer. IF he was willing to sign on a pay-as-you-play deal and Graham Potter was interested, there is a possibility a deal could be done. It is also worth remembering that the former Cherries striker is a client of Will Salthouse, who has negotiated deals for the club on numerous occasions—most recently Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

But as things stand, West Ham have no desire to commit to a large signing-on fee and big wages for a player who is undoubtedly talented but also fragile and nearing the end of his career

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Waste of time talking about this. He was a very good player, always scored against us, but he is past his best and highly injury prone. Might as well name Glen Murray, now s pundit, but he was brilliant and always scored against us. They are both too old, move on!!

We should sign him to stop him scoring against us 😊⚒️⚒️

Why is this even being covered never mind twice in 1 day? Non story which doesn’t merit any further publicity.

I just saw that one Pelligrini favourite he struggled to sign – Maxi Gomez is a free agent now and is still only 28. Another bullet dodged?

Your dead right Gonzo, Martin covered this story earlier on, second time around it’s even worse, he will never wear a West Ham shirt, trust me I support West Ham

Let’s hope Callum Marshall doesnt take driving tips from his mate Mickey Antonio. Or from Kudus for that matter who was recently knicked using his mobile phone while driving home from the training ground.

What is this fascination to a player who whenever he could stuck the boot into us and floated what a poor club we are , hes a crock like Andy Carroll and to sign him would be stupid and cowardly giving him a place when he has no love or respect for this club whatsoever

    Do us all a favour!!!!!
