West Ham are expecting significant interest in winger Luis Guilherme this summer.

That’s the latest from a top London Stadium source who has spoken to Claret & Hugh this morning to set the record straight on breaking Guilherme reports.

Earlier today, C&H revealed that there was renewed interest in the 19-year-old winger from Flamengo, Shakhtar, and Galatasaray. When we approached the club to ask if this was indeed the case, it was not only confirmed but we were informed it was just the tip of the iceberg.

When we asked about our tip-off suggesting interest from Brazil, Ukraine, and Turkey, we were told: “AND a lot of other clubs.”

The top West Ham insider continued: “We don’t think the Brazilian club will come back with the €22m that we paid, and I don’t think the player will move to Ukraine.”

The comments are the biggest indicator yet that the Hammers are willing to offload the wonderkid purchased from Palmeiras in the summer. There were offers from Flamengo during the January transfer window, but boss Graham Potter decided to keep the winger at the club to assess him.

Considering Guilherme has not featured in the first team since that decision, it can be reasonably assumed that the Irons manager has decided the player is not for him.

And judging by what the club are reporting… we won’t be short of offers from clubs willing to gamble on the young Brazilian’s potential.

Why does a 19 year old who is not doing the business in training (allegedly), make it onto the squad every week?
How does a 19 year old with a reputation for speed and is in the squad every week, come second to Rodriguez and Ings?
When Summerville is fit, he plays, but when Summerville is injured, Guilherme cannot get a look in.
What is so secretive about this player that the club cannot/will not explain to the fans exactly what is going on?

I can just see him turning into the new Messi in 5 years time and joking about how West Ham never even played him 😊⚒️⚒️

    Sullivan is a fool

We are going to regret this one selling him all reports coming out of Brazil 100 per cent international in the near future

‘tip of the iceberg’ gives it away.

He’s going to be ‘sold’ (and he will agree and enjoy) to the Antarctic League super cup winners. Don’t forget that he will also be taking his entire family with him. Still no game time but a shorter season means less games to miss.

Or we could just ignore this piece of fantasy fiction and accept that Luis Guilherme is going nowhere. He will make a very valuable contribution on the field next season.

All this just adds to the “Why?” of it all.

If there’s so many interested in him despite nearly no game time then get playing him.

If he gets regular minutes and does well then it’s win-win. We have a player if we keep him, we make more money if we offload him. Hell, we can make even more money if we offload him further down the line.

The season hasn’t been great but it’s the one frustration about it all. Lopetegui was obviously a mistake so the dross served up under him wasn’t a frustration as it was to be expected and, likewise, Potter has had to steady the ship and change mentalities at the club so that was to be expected too but both of them should have been/should be giving him a chance.

I know we supposably need funds but would it not be better to loan him out for a couple of years ? I’m sure he will come good could be a 60/100m player in a few years

    • B says:

Maybe Guilherme will come good and turn into the £100mil. player Tim Steidten hoped.
On the other hand, maybe he isn’t, and a loan deal would expose him and West Ham wouldn’t have the potential buyers they have now?

There must.be something underlining this kid’s ability.
Don’t normally get this much interest from so many clubs for somebody whose not being given chance to play.
It’s not that whu are stacked out.with performing attackers like Endricks position.
Keeping him will create a home grown status.
Must agree if Potter won’t play him he should go out on loan just like academy players.
It’s a 50/50 situation there is possibility value may go down but it could double..
1 season loan would be ideal.
Can’t keep comparing training sessions with ‘real time’ playing.

60/100 mill that is some delusion as I’ve said before if he was setting training alight he would be playing simple as that

  • Essexiron67 says:

Obviously a lot of other clubs think they can see something we can’t, can not understand why he’s not getting a chance on the left wing now . We’ve nobody else ,potter must think he’s not up to it
