West Ham starting XI: The peoples vote

With 250 votes in our Peoples choice starting West Ham XI the results are now in.

Roberto gets the start in goal with 152 votes but David Martin did get 97 votes so hardly a ringing endorsement for the Spanish keeper.

Aaron Cresswell with 150 votes beats Arthur Masuaku with 103 votes

Ryan Fredericks with 242 votes is the clear favourite at left-back with Pablo Zabaleta picking up just 3 votes.

Issa Diop with 238 votes and Angelo Ogbonna with 173 votes are fans favoured centre back pairing. Fabian Balbuena received 111 votes.

Declan Rice received an impressive 242 votes with skipper Mark Noble receiving 118 votes. Jack Wilshere is way behind on 21 votes while Carlos Sanchez picks up just 5 votes.

Robert Snodgrass received 213 votes to start alongside Felipe Anderson with 203 votes with Manuel Lanzini with 177 votes leaving Yarmolenko on the bench with 144 votes and Pablo Fornals with 17 votes.

Seb Haller got 246 votes with Ablian Ajeti on 28 votes.

Others were Nathan Holland 64 votes, Ben Johnson 5 votes, Cardodo and Joe Powell 3 votes each, Conor Coventry 1 vote and Dan Kemp 0 votes.

There would leave a starting lineup of Roberto, Cresswell, Diop, Ogbonna, Fredericks, Rice, Noble, Snodgrass, Anderson, Lanzini, Haller.

  1. Same difference as to the manager’s choice. So for all the brow beating the fans that voted are pretty much in line.

  2. Another devent with this team Manager has not got a clue this is relegation form and it will not be top six it will be bottom six

  3. I feel that it less about the starting XI than it is about how we set up – and Pelle seemed to imply that he is not going to change from the high line anytime soon – and while he sees the chances that we miss he doesnt seem to see the opposition chances caused by the high line – I think that the first half vs Palace was a good example of that – we dominated posession yet palace had by far the better chances

As I seem to be saying repeatedly these days – Go on Pelle and prove me wrong

    COYI

  4. For me it just shows that most that voted can see the squad has no real depth or credible alternatives – best of a bad bunch, perhaps. I’d like to see MP try a different formation with 3 at the back and give Holland a chance. It would give Dyche a surprise and something to shout about (at least he shouts ,,,)
