Supporters believe the club should commission a replica of the East Ham World Cup Champions Statue if they can’t move the real thing to Stratford.
That is the result of a Claret and Hugh which asked what the subject of a West Ham statue should be after Karren Brady revealed earlier this week she had reached an agreement with LLDC to put a statue on the empty plinth in Champions Place outside the London Stadium.
With 1,190 voting in the poll 20.67% (246) thought that a replica of Bobby Moore, Sir Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters in the World Cup pose would be the most fitting statue. A statue of Bobby Moore and Billy Bonds together was a close second with 16.97% (202) votes.
A statue of Bobby Moore on his own pulled in 15.38% (183) votes and a statue of Billy Bonds on his own pulled in 12.44% (148) possibly due to news he is soon to get the East Stand named after him. Sir Trevor Brooking came in fourth place with (8.4%) 100 votes.
Others included John Lyall 6.22% (74) Sam Allardyce 5.04% (60) Ron Greenwood 4.03% (48) Dimi Payet 2.27% (27) West Ham Board 1.6% (19)
The European Cup Winners Cup 1965 team pulled in just 2.35% (28) the 1980 FA Cup team 1.68% (20) 1975 FA Cup team 0.08% (1) FA Cup 1974 0.6% (7) The remaining 2.27% (27) decided none of the above should get a statue with suggestions of Maro Boogers, Benni Mccarthy, Canning Town Len and one fan’s mum some of the less serious suggestions.
Statue of Sam allardyce outside the OS…And more voted for him than Ron Greenwood.. I cant believe that stat..
