West Ham still in race for midfielder

|

James Ward-Prowse is highly rated by David Moyes

West Ham United and Fulham both remain interested in striking a deal for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse, according to the Daily Mail.

The  report confirms other clubs are also in the race for him  but that his £40m valuation needs to come down before serious bids are lodged.

Beyond relegated Southampton’s skipper’s situation a couple of other players may well be on their trading list with Romeo Lavia and Tino Livramento have been heavily linked with moves away from St Mary’s.
If one or the other exit the club  Saints may be able to hold on to Ward-Prowse with him being contracted to the club until 2026. Ne has no relegation clause in his deal.

With Euro 2024 closing in he may feel he needs to being in one of the nation’s top leagues to give himself  a really serious chance of being involved in a Three Lions squad.
