West Ham street traders under review

West Ham supporters looked to operate a trial stand on London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) land close to the London Stadium.

However fees charged were prohibitive and Minutes from the London Stadium  Safety Advisory Group says the LLDC declared they have no plans to change the match day pricing policy

Newham council said it was an issue for landowners to consider where Chair Sheila Roberts requested LLDC and London Stadium 185 to submit formal instructions to the council in dealing with street trading requests.

The safety minutes also reveal that West Ham has aspirations to have roaming retail units selling official merchandise.

Newham agreed to raise a request with the Newham Chair of Licensing for comments. Stadium owners E20 Stadium LLP are reviewing this and the Hammers are expected to start a dialogue with the E20 Commercial Director.

Supporters have called for a return of street traders on match days around the London Stadium.
