West Ham Strike Target Sends Message To Rival

One of West Ham United’s two primary striker targets scored last night in the Copa America third-place playoff.

Jonathan David came in off the bench and put Canada in front in the 80th minute, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as Luis Suarez dramatically equalised in the 92nd minute and forced a penalty shootout.

Lille striker David has enhanced an already excellent reputation with his performances in the summer tournament and has been heavily linked with a transfer to West Ham.

The Hammers’ other main forward target is Aston Villa’s Colombian striker, Jhon Duran, who should be on the bench for Monday’s Copa final against Argentina. At 20 years of age Duran is seen as a player with potential rather than the finished article which David Undoubtedly is.

West Ham’s summer transfer plans

West Ham’s summer transfer plans had been revealed recently following links to a multitude of strikers. However, it now seems the two frontrunners are both competing in the same competition in the United States. David is just one goal away from becoming Canada’s all time leading goal scorer and could be available for half the price being suggested for Duran.

The likelihood of Duran featuring against Argentina is slim. He was an unused substitute in Colombia’s semi-final and remained on the bench for their quarter-final against Panama, despite being 5-0 ahead.

David has been poor at the tournament. I’m West Ham from Ottawa, where David grew up. I haven’t missed a Canada game in years. I want the best for him. I’d be happy to have him, but don’t expect a saviour. At the moment I don’t think he’s a better footballer than Antonio.

Totally bored with these overblown claims that amount to nothing and stories that bear no resemblance to the title. Also is it law that the subject is only named in the 4th paragraph or later ?
    Money for nothing !!

David is a proven goalscorer and half the price! Surely it makes him a priority over other strikers 🤷‍♂️

David should be signed he’s the cheaper option and more established then Duran , I think it’s a massive gamble on Duran at 35M

I think that “the rival” just might be Duran.

I’m assuming the moral of this article has been lost in translation.
I think the “Rival” is being between Duran Vs David as to who is the better option for any club that is umming and errring between the pair of them this summer window. May the best man win.
Personally I’d like to see David signed as he is better established, but Duran would be better for the long run and hopefully we could mould him into the player we require.
