With the urgency increasing after Jarrod Bowen’s foot fracture, The Hammers are working actively to bring in a striker as soon as possible to supplement Niclas Fullkrug and Danny Ings: Neither would be first choice and so the next few weeks are going to be tough.

A host of £20 million level players have been linked with a move. Ipswich along with West Ham have been chasing Middlesborough’s Ivorian Emmanuel Latte Lath. Whilst the club and their manager would like to hold on to their player in a push for play-off places, Latte Lath’s agent is upbeat on his player moving this month.

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb last month, his agent confirmed:”Eight goals in the first part of the season and we expect something to happen in January. He is a striker, and strikers are always the subject of attention in the January transfer window.”

IN addition in the last couple of days, the good news is that it seems Ipswich have had their offer rejected. According to 1st January’s sportwitness.co.uk :“Emmanuel Latte Lath would like to join a club that can offer him a ‘better challenge’ than the one offered by Ipswich Town, who are currently in the relegation zone. West Ham could offer what he’s looking for”.

Having netter eight times in the championship this season, Latte Lath at 25 years old certainly fits the profile of West Ham’s stated aim to bring the best players from the championship into the squad, instead of buying expensive overseas players who might not settle.  Hammers fans will be relieved just to see one new striker come through the door at London Stadium this summer – whoever it is.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

What we need is Delap from Ipswich. 40 milllion should do it. Hes a workhorse in the Jarrod Bowen mode. I think he would do really well well for us and he hasn’t got to move too far.

We can’t sack Lopi because of PSR which will be 5m so how can we afford this bloke?

Get rid of the ranting Basque, save some money and get a coach that will bring Guilherme into the side, gently.

    • Matthew Reid says:

He nearly scored a screamer against Liverpool, should be enough to get a few more chances, especially with Bowen out for 3 months

  • Deam says:

I watched him the other day Martin and he was utterly useless, no movement, no output and to be honest very little ability on show. Oh he can run quickly but the rest of his game was hopeless

    • Kyle says:

You don’t have eyes then, he was very direct, caused problems when he came on. So next time open your eyes

Nice, thanks for keeping it friendly! We watched a very different game then, as all I saw was huff puff and nothing of substance, he has had one single decent scoring season and the rest of his career has been that of a journeyman I’m afraid. Love to the family

He started the game, by the way!
