West Ham survival fight could go down to the last game admits Moyes

West Ham manager David Moyes has admitted the Hammers survival hopes could go down to the very last game against Aston Villa

Speaking to Sky Sports News the Gaffer said:  “I’ve always felt it was going to be tight. I’ve never for a minute thought it wasn’t going to the last, maybe even the last game possibly. That’s the way the Premier League is. The bottom of the league is tight.

“We’ve been here before and done it before. We’ve got winnable games. We maybe have to wait and see where those games come and take every opportunity we can. We have to try and win the next game which we’ll try and do, and I’ve got a lot of belief we’re going to be fine but we’ve got to show that”

West Ham captain Mark Noble speaking to Weest Ham TV cameras before football restarted said: “Hopefully we are not going to have any bad results but we more than likely will,
because of the teams, we have to play”

Claret and Hugh say:

These words from the manager and the captain will not clam the nerves of many West Ham supporters before tonight’s big game against Spurs.  They could be considered as defeatest like they think Wolves, Spurs, Manchester United and Chelsea are too strong for us and we need to concentrate on more winnable games against Newcastle, Burnley, Norwich, Watford and Aston Villa.

Our manager and players need belief that we can nick a result from any game as the normal rules and the form book do not apply in this artificial return to football.

We can not rely on wins against lower table teams for survival in the Premier League and we need a winning mentality for every one of the last eight fixtures.
