West Ham ‘target’ on verge of joining Saints

Southampton will sign former West Ham transfer target Marlon Santos from Barcelona in the near future, according to claims from Spanish news outlet Diario SPORT.

Reports from Spain today claimed that Kia Joorabchian was finalising Barcelona’s sale of Marlon to West Ham adding that an agreement was made between all parties for €15m but there are still minor details which need to be ironed out before the deal goes through.

However, a club insider told Claret and Hugh  that Santos had, in fact, dropped off the Hammers target list some time ago before they signed Issa Diop and has not been a contender for some time.

The Brazilian spent last season on loan Nice where he made 27 appearances. He was supposed to stay for another season, after struggling to establish himself at Barcelona with the ‘B’ team but called back early to be sold by the Spanish giants.

  1. Was told by a good source as they say Marlon was signed by us Sean ages ago only waiting for July to come due to Barca wanting it done then. Pelle likes ball playing centre backs like stones and issop so with rice and if he likes the look of Oxford we are strong in that area and Reid can also be sold
