Watch out Kyle Walker Peters. It seems West Ham have not been letting the grass grow under their feet whilst waiting for the Southampton full back to decide on his Premier League future.
A young – 21 year old – highly rated South American right back has been attracting their interest and scouting missions: The Mexican international and teammate of Edson Alvarez in Mexico’s recent Nations League triumph is currently plying his trade in Denmark but according to sources, may be about to swop FC Copenhagen for east London and the Premier League.
South American agency ole.com.ar suggests:” Rodrigo Huescas, convicted in Denmark, interests legendary Premier League team”:
The ‘conviction’ refers to his reckless driving conviction and 20 day prison sentence – you’d hope he’s learned his lesson before coming to the M25 any time soon. Huescos is the subject of their detailed report which continues:
“The Premier League team that loves Rodrigo Huescas. The interested club is neither more nor less than Edson Álvarez’s West Ham. After a season to be forgotten, the Hammers led by Graham Potter want to renew their squad, and within that plan, the Mexican could be part of it.
Although his name was closely followed for months, his recent performance in the 3-goal to 0 victory against Brondby was what finished convincing the English”
And at just €5 million he fits into the brave new world of Hammers’ scouted players ahead of the summer ’25 window.
As an Aaron Wan-Bissaka understudy and cover for both flanks, Huescas is a pacy, skilled and fit youngster who has played 30 games this season without injury or incident.
Exciting times if just a few of these young stars which are being scouted ever arrive at London Stadium. The reports of future talent on a budget are that much more credible than the usual sources and their multi-million banner headlines. West Ham need inexpensive squad players to build for the future. Huescas would certainly be an exciting future prospect with international silverware already in his trophy cabinet.
It’s amazing how we are always interested in 21/22 year olds from all around the world, but our own Academy players are considered not ready, or have no experience!!!
It’s the same every pre season we are linked with all and sundry and don’t buy anyone

Mexico is in North America, not South.
Too funny. Just of the Gulf of America?
