West Ham’s Official ticketing partner Ticket Master has now released a statement on a massive cyber data breach
The Ticketing Partner’s parent company filed a statement saying:
“On May 20, 2024, Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (the “Company” or “we”) identified unauthorized activity within a third-party cloud database environment containing Company data (primarily from its Ticketmaster LLC subsidiary) and launched an investigation with industry-leading forensic investigators to understand what happened,” Live Nation shared in a Friday night SEC filing.
The third-party cloud environment is believed to be Snowflake
Snowflake said in a post on Friday that it had informed a “limited number of customers who we believe may have been impacted” by attacks “targeting some of our customers’ accounts.” Snowflake did not describe the nature of the attacks, or if data had been stolen from customer accounts.
West Ham has still not received a response to a direct email sent to Ticket Master asking whether West Ham data is involved.
With 560 million records allegedly for sale, it is difficult to believe that West Ham supporter data is not involved along with many other Premier League clubs as it is likely all Ticketmaster data has been compromised if reports are true.
West Ham, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton Wolves, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, and Luton Town all use Ticket Master IT systems as their exclusive ticketing partner.
