Minutes from the London Stadium Safety Advisory Group reveal that “Operators London Stadium 185, West Ham and the SGSA are actively collaborating to address persistent standing issues at West Ham home games at the London Stadium, with ongoing reviews of measures aimed at eliminating the behaviour.
A new video, used alongside on-the-ground teams, effectively reminds fans to remain seated. The SGSA added that the stadium holds an all-seater license for football, with the Safety Certificate requiring all areas of the London Stadium to remain under control. Matches are well managed as best as possible, ensuring exits and vomitories [yes that is a word ] remain clear.
The SGSA praised the positive efforts by the working group in continually working towards tackling persistent standing and encouraged continued collaboration, especially around the lower tiers and block 217. The Chair noted the importance of dialogue, acknowledging that control has to be caveated by the influence of human behaviour and risk factors given the stadium’s multi-event nature.”
Under the section on engagement with fan groups, the minutes added: “Safe Standing Supporters will be included if further consideration is given to safe standing.”
Presumably the stadium operators know the persistent standers. Action should be taken to prevent access to the ground for these inconsiderate types. Same for the smokers.
Enjoy themselves by all means but behave.

I regret this because do not like to rant & rave, so apologies – but have always been standing, laughing, admiring the refereeing (!) watching games or doing the exact same in a local watching whu on TV. Sitting tidily in rows of seats is not what you want and it should be taken into account now & especially in any possible future development of the stadium (which I can’t afford to go to).
What a load of bo–ocks it’s a joyless bowl already with NO atmosphere.
I’ve been a fan of 54 years and I last visited the ls back in May for the Luton game well I will not be going back I hate the place.Plus Sullivan doesn’t want working class people like me to attend games he wants the popcorn brigade.
My club died the day we left Upton Park.
No disrespect intended but I’m afraid Mr Whetstone your just Sullivans puppett.
I meant to say soulless bowl in statement above
Just one reason why I stopped going in December 2023.
The joy really has gone from going to matches.
For 90 mins you get away from it all and look forward to the pub afterwards – it is that simple. Talk about controllers using fatuous officialdom to ruin everything they do not appreciate, understand, profit from or experience themselves.
So the club want to stamp out any small amount of atmosphere created at the stadium.
Are we allowed to stand if we dare to score or just clap politely sitting down?
The club is a joke. if it’s a licence thing, apply for safe standing. I thought we were one of the clubs who wanted to trial this a few years ago….
Your little mate is only interested in ticket sales, sends his minions to pat the carefully selected few on the head at these bs meetings & like nodding dogs they lap it up.
But..hey, the big flags will be brought out, that will do the job. Problems solved 🤣😂
The be all & end all, is ticket sales, he doesn’t give a moments thought about the fans
It isn’t a football stadium & never will be whilst it’s in its current format. The whole time we don’t own it, nothing will change.
You can slap on as much lipstick on pig as you like, it won’t change things.
I concur mate; what a bloody joke. No beer in the stadiums, the standing police…sounds like the UK is even more of a nanny state than Australia.
Serious question, what do you do if a chant rings out instructing if you love West Ham to stand up?
Up the ‘ammers
