West Ham are due to announce the signing of new head coach Julen Lopetegui today. The Spaniard will replace David Moyes, who has recently departed the club along with the majority of his backroom team.

Lopetegui has already visited the Rush Green training ground over the past few days. Much has been made of yesterday’s meeting between the former Wolves coach and Tim Steidten; however, the two men have already met several times and had made contact before the club met with Ruben Amorim.

Lopetegui did meet with the new head of data analysis, Maximilian Hahn, for the first time yesterday, along with Moritz Steidten.

It is believed that the former Real Madrid boss penned his contract last week, although terms and paperwork were agreed last month. Rumours suggest Lopetegui has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third year.

Preparations for next season are thought to be well advanced.

This guy has a massive ego. You don’t play ball with this guy and give him the finances he wants to get the players in to the club he wants, then he walks away. simple.

Great, let’s get cracking on the change up, no time to lose here. The idea that we have a coach, a data analyst and Tim Steidten sounds good news, and hearing the focus on youth, quality and possession based play is truly music to my ears. Let’s go Irons.
