Top transfer journalist and ITK Fabrizio Romano has confirmed West Ham’s interest in Aleíx Garcia, but there is one problem: Bayer Leverkusen are also interested. Rumors surrounding West Ham’s interest in the player have been circulating for the last three days, but it appears interest is heating up with Julen Lopetegui becoming involved.
Speaking on his social media platform, Romano wrote: “Aleíx Garcia, out of the Spain squad for the Euros… now set to decide his future with Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham pushing. Bayer Leverkusen, leading the race since April offering UCL football. West Ham made contact to present their project with Lopetegui involved.”
It’s a big stretch to believe that any player would choose West Ham over Leverkusen at this moment in time, but it is understood West Ham would be willing to pay above the Leverkusen wage cap.
In essence, it could be a case of the player rejecting Champions League football for a larger pay packet.
He will sign for West ham better league and more money.
