Breaking news reports suggest that West Ham United have expressed interest in Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin. This is not the first time the club has been linked to the player, who was believed to be of interest to former boss David Moyes.
Understandably, the club has been hesitant to pursue a player who, despite his obvious talent, is frequently injured.
The Toffees are likely to be forced into a decision over the 27-year-old centre-forward imminently, with his contract due to expire in 2025. They face the prospect of losing him for nothing, which is a major concern given their financial problems.
Indeed, there are reports that Everton will have to move players on by the end of the month to satisfy the Premier Leagueās Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), yet they have held firm over Manchester Unitedās approach for Jarrad Branthwaite.
West Ham’s need for striking reinforcements is well-documented, and the club has recently confirmed to Claret & Hugh that a striker is a priority in this transfer window.
Brentford have also been linked with the injury prone forward who is surely nowhere near commanding the transfer fee of Ā£50m which was quoted three years ago.
Definitely one to swerve for The Hammers I think.
Everton have already stated they are looking for top dollar on any player sold.
He does have history when it comes to injuries.
Why would anybody entertain a 27 year old with injuries for Ā£35m and no sell on value.
We have already been associated with younger proficient strikers for less.
Gomes / Clarke / Gassova / En Nesyri / Ioannisidas / Guirassy to name just a few.
Need to make some concrete ‘non-haggling’ offers and get the ball rolling.
The two words ‘respected’ and ‘journalist’ do not sit well together.
Journalists are people who are incapable of doing a proper job, so they just write about their betters. If there is no news they just make it up.
Lucky for you lot then heās more likely to be choosing Newcastle for his next destination.
Way too injury prone . Avoid .
Great when heās fully fit and firing but letās be honest, how often is that?
After all the trumpet blowing about various world class striker interest, it’s now come to this? As the weeks go by we have only bought one player but our wanted list is growing because of several players apparently wanting to leave. What happened to all the enthusiasm?
ALL these stories coming from journalists and so called ITKs, why are people getting so upset by them? When the club issues the names they HAVE signed then we can agree or not, but slagging Steidten, Lopetegui or Sullivan off on the words of people just pulling names out of a hat just to get a headline is not helping anyone, let them do their job and if they bodge it then we can have our say! But Iām sure they know who they are talking to and want to sign, and I for one trust them to deliver some decent quality for us, but it canāt (unless we are extremely lucky) to be done in one window, keep the faith my fellow Hammers and give our negotiators a chance!!
Not a chance we should’ve learnt our lesson with Carroll, Wiltshire,Dyer.Made of glass
I opened a news aggregator and the real story here is that he is being offered a new contract as his current one runs out this time NEXT YEAR, which only if he doesn’t agree to then SPECULATIVELY he might be sold. That’s where it becomes silly season with all manner of speculated destinations based on the ASSUMPTION that he won’t sign the contract he’s offered. Anyone can open a news aggregator as I’ve just done.
I would take him but he is bit injury prone
Agree. Heās greatā¦when he is not injured.
No no no no no no no…..do they not no this guys injury record it is horrendous and the next Andy Carroll off the rank i cannot think of a more dumb thing to do than sign this sicknote
