Socios.com, in collaboration with West Ham, have today announced that the forthcoming West Ham Fan Tokens will be priced at £1 when they go on sale in the autumn.

The press release reads: “Every West Ham season ticket-holder and member will be given the chance to redeem a Fan Token for free, to coincide with the launch of the app later this year. Thousands of Fan Tokens will also be given away to fans for free through Socios.com’s in-app geo-location, augmented reality feature called ‘Token Hunt’.

Socios.com is a unique fan engagement platform which fans can access through ownership of a club’s Fan Tokens. Every Fan Token gives you the right to participate in specific club-selected surveys and polls, earning rewards points the more you interact. These reward points can be redeemed for incredible once-in-a-lifetime experiences, exclusive merchandise and much more.

A maximum of 50 Fan Tokens per fan can be collected. This cap is in place to prevent one single fan from ‘controlling’ Club-selected votes, however, there is no cap on the amount of rewards points you can earn. One Fan Token is worth one right to vote – fans don’t spend Fan Token(s) every time they vote and it’s not an annual cost like membership or a season ticket. If a fan only wants one Fan Token (and they haven’t managed to pick one up for free), £1 is all they ever need to spend to use the app, vote and earn rewards in perpetuity.

West Ham fans will be able to participate in a range of polls and surveys over the course of the season, with most polls including a chance for fans to meet their heroes and/or interact with the team. Examples include:

• Player Q&As: choosing which player participates in a fan-led Q&A, as well as the questions the player will answer. One lucky fan will also be invited to participate in the press conference, ask the chosen questions and meet the player.
• Special Socios Matchday: fans get to pick which fixture will be the designated Socios.com matchday, which also gives them the ability to choose which player is featured on the front of the programme for that match. Voters will be picked at random to enjoy hospitality seating for that match, a pre-match tour, a Q&A with a West Ham legend (questions also picked by fans), and will have the opportunity to present the MOTM award in the tunnel (if the team wins).
• Moment of the Month: fans get to pick the most significant football moment for the previous month. One fan will be invited down to Rush Green to watch a training session, meet the winning player and award the trophy.
