West Ham have been told to come up with another €5 million if they want to land their first-choice replacement for Emerson.
It’s now relatively common knowledge that the Hammers’ current left-back is set to leave the London Stadium in the coming weeks. As a result, West Ham—led by recruitment chief Kyle Macaulay—have been scouring some of Europe’s less glamorous leagues in search of hidden gems.
Yesterday, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported that Slavia Prague had rejected a bid for their highly rated wing-back El Hadji Malick Diouf. According to Romano, West Ham had tabled a €20 million offer for the 20-year-old Senegalese defender, with two other clubs also in the mix.
Claret & Hugh were separately informed by a club source on the same day that the Hammers were actively bidding for players—and that Diouf is indeed one of the targets.
The latest update suggests that if West Ham want to get the deal done, we’ll need to increase our offer to around €25 million.
Reports also indicate that personal terms have already been agreed with both the player and his agent. The only question now is whether the Irons’ hierarchy will stump up the extra cash.
The whole point of scouting in the Czech, Swiss, Danish, and Belgian markets was to unearth unknown talents at bargain prices. If Diouf now ends up costing close to €25m, it will be interesting to see whether the club consider that value—or move on to the next target on Macaulay’s list.

It is not realistic to expect the West Ham board to stump up £25M for a 20 year old nobody and at the same time expect them to “give in” to trash like Spurs on a £50M bid for Kudus. Stick to their guns on £85M for Kudus (or close) and then offer a little extra for the unknowns. The likes of Kudus and Aguerd need to do a little self-analysis and apply the Professional part of their job description, otherwise be prepared to sit on the bench all season. Not ideal but not a pushover either.

You know very well Sullivan will not go back. Just bid to take pressure off. If he was a main target would stump up a bit more and meet in the middle. We need atleast two dynamic athletic midfielders a young striker and left side centre back as a priority. Then if Emerson goes need a left wing back and probably a new keeper. So much to be done but Sullivan will fuck it up he always does. Always brings in wrong profile and wrong age at end of window that doesn’t fit. Then he will blame everyone else even though everybody knows it will be his decisions with his agent contacts.

If we do not get good money for kudus then keep him , maybe he will find his mojo again and excel , I was happy with our front line and middle line , the weakness was in defence , we should have kept Carlos soler , he was fast and a blocker , all we need is a goal keeper and a defender , I am presuming there will be no change meaning paqueta will stay , and nayef aguerd can go and f**k himself , he is not going at a discounted price

I was thinking the same. Happy on paper at the beginning of the season, but by the end only Bowen went away with any credit.
Kudus was also the only one with no real excuse, simply a temperament issue as Ajax fans warned when signing him. Paqueta, kinda get why he’s feeling down and the big German, well, nobody forced us to sign a known injury prone player at his age did they.
Antonio should be binned too. No real sympathy for him on my part. I’m happy he walked away from the crash, but it’s the second time he’s wrecked his motor and he’s a bit over the hill anyway.

OK so we’re strapped for cash at the moment but the guyis only 20 years old.Spread that extra 5m over the number of years he could play for us and its a minimal outlay.Plus he could be saleable if he is a success.

If they have come in with a starting offer of 20 million, then the extra 5 is surely expected as part of the negotiation. Unless this is another Brady ‘Take it or Leave it’ offer that we all know has worked so well in the past…

Diouf Has incredible stats before he was injured and he is fully recovered aswell. He costs only 25 Mil just because its from Czech league otherwise the pricetag would be doubled. He is 20 y.o. and at this young age he was key factor of Slavia’s dominance and get the Champions league done.
He was tested in european league where he had one of the best stats at the fullback positions even tho Slavia was focused on the league during the last season to get the Champions League ticket for the upcoming season. He was also tested at the national level where he was Man of the Match vs England and won that game. Just find his highlight and you will see what you can get “for only 25 mil” and you are still complaining at the price, lel
