West Ham Told To Pay £45M For J-Lo Favourite

West Ham United have been quoted a whopping £45 million for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Max Kilman. Even more astonishingly, the Hammers are considering actually paying the fee, according to The Mail Online.

Kilman is highly regarded by West Ham’s new head coach Julen Lopetegui, following their stint together at Wolves. The Hammers are known to be in the hunt for central defenders, and on a day when it’s been revealed that Kurt Zouma is for sale, the Kilman link is an obvious one to make.

However, £45 million does seem somewhat excessive, particularly on a day when the club pulled out of negotiations for Aleix Garcia for financial reasons.

Nayef Aguerd is expected to depart the club in the upcoming transfer window and Angelo Ogbonna has left leaving West Ham with a depleted defence.

Kilman is a decent defender who is homegrown and ticks a lot of boxes, but crikey . . . that’s a lot of money for a club with a £100 million transfer kitty.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

WHU have been linked to Jonathan Tah on more than one occasion, Moyes never made right noises.
Max Kilman / Jonathan Tah plus additional l/b and r/b should surely add stability across the back line.

Complete and utter fabrication. So ‘who’ supposedly told anyone to pay £45m? No one. Wolves have certainly not done anything of the sort. Just another click-bait article which is meaningless.

Mersons obviously been on the bottle again but kilman is a good pro and we should get a deal done, people thought arsenal overpaid for rice but hi
S worth has increased to lay above that now. But we won’t pay and will wind up getting in cheaper and lesser options.

At least Merson should be able to pronounce his name without getting in a tizz.

Why is the comment “even astonishingly” voiced about the fact West Ham may actually pay that fee? If they walked away from the offer, there would be the inevitable complaints that we bottled it or blew it – AGAIN! If JL wants him, and that’s the value they put on him, let’s get him. We definitely need some solidity at the back. You’re always going to pay a premium for PL players. Why do you think they went with JL? He’s plugged into low-cost, highly talented Latin, Spanish or Portuguese talent.

Someone Lopetegui knows and trusts. Someone who can come in and take over as Captain straight away. In the same way Allardyce bought Nobby Nolan with him from Newcastle when he took over. It’s a lot of money but maybe it’s worth paying the money for someone invaluable to the manager and his way of thinking. Someone who knows what the gaffer wants and can pass it on to the team. Less than we paid for Paquetá. In terms of what we need the most our biggest failing last season was defence and in my opinion Leadership. Maybe it’s worth paying the money.

Wolves are not over concerned about selling Kilman.
He’s club captain and they are happy to keep him.
Hence the price if somebody wants him they will have to pay through the nose.
A week ago it was £40m now it’s £45m (maybe just media talk).
