West Ham are bracing themselves for a massive financial hit as they look to offload one of their biggest transfer failures in January.

Claret & Hugh has been informed by a top transfer source that German striker Niclas Füllkrug is “100%” leaving in January, with a deal expected to be a loan with an option — rather than an obligation — to buy, and at a significantly reduced price.

The Hammers had hoped to play hardball over the £27m signing from Borussia Dortmund, but they now want him out of the door as quickly as possible.

West Ham will have to take lowball bids

C&H has been told that two German clubs are currently in negotiations, along with AC Milan. “It will be a loan with an option. He will go 100%. West Ham will lose a fortune. AC may take him on loan if Giménez goes, but it’s no more than a 10% chance,” the source revealed.

Another senior West Ham figure previously told C&H that Füllkrug would need to take a pay cut if he wants to leave, with no club currently willing to match his wages, believed to be over £110,000 per week.

Our source reiterated that the Hammers have not bid for any striker despite rumours linking the club with Leonardo. However, we understand they have been offered another Saudi-based midfielder — an approach that was swiftly rejected.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Hopefully we start learning from this and we now by young players and not for silly prices, but have a plan.
We have as a club, to be continued to be fleeced from both ends.

Another example of the quite staggering ineptitude of those running our club. Time and time again we offload flops at a big loss. Here’s looking forward to 9pm on January 31st to see who the next disappointing injury-pone over-the-hill striker is that we pay over the odds for. Please someone come and buy us!

Play hard ball. Refuse to subsidise his wages and then see how Fulkrug reacts near the end of January as he realises he has no chance of going to the World Cup unless he is playing regularly.

  • Marbs hammer says:

Loaning Fulkrup is no good he will only come back in the summer ..we just have to get him Prowse and Rodriquez off the books ..We have to take the hit take 15m for the 3 of them and done with it… we need at least 3 new players to survive …Superman. Batman and Robin come to mind.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

If we could get somewhere between 12&15 million it would be about market rate and what we should have paid for him.

Steidten made some good signings he wasn’t one of them.

  • Morty says:

Why do we always advertise that we are desperate to sell? he’s a German international and if teams want him they should pay the money. If he has to stay then he will have to perform if he wants to get into the German squad for the World Cup. Time to treat everyone else the same as they treat us with transfers

    • Gonzo says:

I don’t think we have advertised it. The only thing the club said two weeks ago was that they wouldn’t let him go on the cheap.

I’ve been told today buy an agent that West Ham are going to have to lower their demands and subsidise his exit. But that hasn’t come from them, I’m sure they’re still adamant that they’ll only accept top dollar or he’ll stay.
