West Ham remain very much in the hunt for Graham Potter’s top two transfer targets, according to the latest update from ExWHUEmployee.
The Hammers ITK was speaking on his Patreon account as West Ham ramp up their efforts to secure a midfielder before the Premier League opener against Sunderland next weekend.
Most who saw the Hammers win on penalties against Lille at the London Stadium would have noted how Graham Potter’s team still continues to misfire in midfield.
Whilst Ex indicated earlier this morning that the club were set to ramp up interest in Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes, it was his update on another top target that really grabbed the attention.
Most had given up on the chances of Jacob Ramsey joining West Ham. The Aston Villa midfielder was said to be close to signing a new contract at Villa Park and not too keen on moving to the London Stadium.
However, Ex has suggested that Hammers bosses have not given up on luring Ramsey to East London and are still trying to convince him — presumably this persuasive onslaught is being led by agent Will Salthouse, who has a close relationship with the Sullivan family.
At this stage, either one will do for me, although I would be particularly excited with the signing of Fernandes if the club can pull it off.
No legs in this story for me just a rumour regurgitated as it is a slow day. Ramsay does not want to leave Villa and come here so why try for something you will never get…get over it Potter and move on.
Why would we try to convince a player to join us who doesn’t want to be here?! We have enough of those already!
