West Ham have been offered the chance to sign one of the Championshipā€™s brightest young talents.

For most of the season, the Hammers have been linked with Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.

However, it is another highly rated Sunderland youngster, 17-year-old Chris Rigg, who is now understood to be available at the end of the season.

Claret & Hugh have spoken to a transfer insider who revealed that West Ham have been given the opportunity to sign him.

ā€œA lot of big clubs are chasing this kidā€”Chelsea and Man United are both interested,ā€ C&H were told.

ā€œHis family donā€™t want him going to a big club just to play in the reserves. Heā€™s made 30 appearances this season and wants to continue his development. West Ham have been offered the playerā€”itā€™s just up to them now.ā€

Rigg, along with Bellingham, has been outstanding for Sunderland this season, with the North East club sitting comfortably in the Championship play-off spots. No doubt the Black Cats will fight to keep both players at the Stadium of Light if they secure Premier League promotion.

But the talented duo are clearly on the rise, and if the Hammers want to get ahead of the competition, theyā€™ll have to act fast.

But we are broke remember. Joking aside, can’t you guys come up with something new, realistic, substantial, genuine, likely, affordable, or even just newsworthy? May I suggest you use your heads more and “trusted sources” a lot less.

West Ham have not been offered Chris Rigg by anyone who has authority to offer him

    Rubbish

He could be 25-30 million. Would Sullivan pay that for a 17 year old? Rare for a 17 year old to play a season in the championship Iā€™d say so maybe heā€™s got something. However four goals and one assist in thirty odd games is no great return is it? I suppose we have to take into account his age and that he could improve. Who knows if this will happen or not. The name of the transfer insider is not revealed so who can say whether their information is reliable or not.

    Utter nonsense

  • Clickbait says:

If Sunderland will fight to keep him, who has offered him to West Ham ?

  • Jeeps says:

Why would he want to go to whu just be put in academy and then upgraded to bench?
General route for any up and coming prospects.
