West Ham Transfer News Update

West Ham have been linked with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Georgiy Sudakov, with Give me Sport reporting that the Hammers have made contact over a potential transfer. However, when C&H contacted a source within the club to ask about any potential move for the highly rated youngster the suggestion seemed to be a genuine surprise.

The Ukrainian midfielder, who has been making waves with his performances over the past four years, has also attracted interest from Napoli and Porto, the latter having failed with a January bid.

West Ham are now the latest club to explore signing the 21-year-old, as competition from Premier League and Serie A sides is said to have ‘intensified’. Whilst I can’t claim to know too much about the player, a goal every other game from midfield is impressive—particularly considering Sudakov has played Champions League football.

That said, reports suggesting Shakhtar will demand £54 million for the player’s services seem somewhat unrealistic given the state of West Ham’s finances, with the club set to record close to an £80 million loss in the next set of accounts.

Recent West Ham transfer news frequently suggest the club will bid big money for players, but that seems highly unlikely.

Claret & Hugh have been informed that West Ham’s transfer focus will likely be on free signings unless the club can offload a player for a significant fee.

Given the current state of football finances, it’s hard to imagine many clubs in Europe having the funds to meet Shakhtar’s demands for the youngster. With West Ham transfer news scarce following an underwhelming window, I think we can file this particular rumour under ‘unrealistic.’

Good to see only achievable purchases will be taken seriously.
No more speculation on players which are completely out of whu league.
Articles reporting these are just a waste of space and time.
    Believe it’s called ‘Click bait’.
Keeping it to realistic players is much more appreciated.
