West Ham Transfer Options Shrink as Two Horse Kudus Race Emerges

West Ham’s list of potential buyers for Mohammed Kudus appears to be shrinking by the day—leaving what could become a straight shootout between Chelsea and Tottenham.

Friday’s news that Newcastle United had shifted focus to other targets has been followed by transfer movement from two of the other clubs previously linked with Kudus.

Arsenal were frequently mentioned as serious contenders and were even rumoured to have made a £50 million offer. However, it now seems Mikel Arteta has turned his attention to Crystal Palace’s FA Cup hero Ebere Eze or Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have splashed the cash on Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and are closing in on Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo—effectively ending any immediate pursuit of Kudus.

As a result, West Ham now face a drastically reduced market for our Ghanaian star. That lack of competition could leave the club open to lowball bids, including Chelsea’s reported part-exchange proposals and Tottenham’s initial unfancied offer.

While West Ham had dismissed Spurs’ valuation of the 24-year-old, the lack of serious bidders may force a rethink. Unless a new contender emerges—or the players renewed Saudi interest proves genuine—the Hammers could be left with little choice but to negotiate with clubs they were hoping to avoid.

I think we’re about to see the first real test of whether the Irons board are willing to put their own money into the club.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

I’d love to know what plans we are making taffy
    Can you please enlightened us

  • John says:

Keep him unless we get £70m. Where has the art of coaching and getting the best out of players? Or do we just employ managers limited in ideas, stuck in the mode of producing turgid and predictable possession football? 2 years of awful football seems to have devalued the majority of our squad.

Don’t worry, people. What will be, will be. Life is what happens to us as we’re busy making other plans.

If it wasn’t for needing funds would whu be looking to sell Kudus?
He undoubtedly had skills which he showed on arriving.
Player of his calibre doesn’t just lose his capabilities.
Is this just a one season dip?
Seems to be a problem with comments not getting published.

  • HammerDan says:

The issue with Kudus is he’s not as good as he thinks he is. He’s not as in demand as he thinks he is.

If teams drop out of the race, he may be faced with having to get off his arse to play for us again next season!!

  • Julian Woodhouse says:

We do not sell to Spurs, badcenoigh he could end up at Chelsea but we must not do business with Spurs. He stays if an acceptable bid can’t be found.

  • Timbo says:

If we don’t get an acceptable offer then maybe he will be motivated to show his best form again to secure a move in the next window. That could be a good thing but we would then need a Paqueta sale or as you say the Directors cash to fund the rebuild.

Just like the Italian Job, I can visualise old sleazy Sullivan saying , “Hang on lads I’ve got a great idea ” under his tenure this club is only heading in one direction, Down ! 60 years supporting to see this club become a circus.
As in life anyone who has intentions on doing something just does it, unlike us , we just live off @@@@@@@@@@ rumours and speculation, is this what it has come to? We could field a reasonable team , if they the players, were managed well, trouble is even the players know this club is in decline. 🙏🏻

I don’t know if this is the worst lead in to a season I remember, or is it that we have more news and information at our fingertips now that means we may think it’s the worst? From 87 to 93 wasn’t great when we didn’t build on the success of 86, but was it worse? I don’t know. What I do know is that in business you have to sometimes invest to get anywhere, and I feel the time has come for our directors to put some cash in to make up for the years of post Boleyn asset stripping.

  • Barry says:

Beyond caring Gonzo..he doesn’t want to be here fans have had enough just get shot of him….mercenaries had enough of them

    • Bennyboy baker says:

I accept that kudus would bring in a significant funds but at what cost clubs are looking to get him on the cheap and that can’t be allowed to happen if we get a decent offer for kudus then we can cash in but whoever does sign him now or in the future please not spurs it will be a sad day when we lose kudus he is the type of player we should be looking to keep at the club along with bringing in some top class players and not all of them are in the premier league
