West Ham transfer target starts despite rumours

|

West Ham transfer target Boudaye Dia has started today upfront for Reims in a Ligue 1  away match against Lille at Stade Pierre Mauroy

Reims are currently one-nil up in the first half between third-place Lille and fifteen placed Reims Du Stade in the French top flight of football.

Rumours on social media surfaced earlier today that Dia had been withdrawn from the squad giving false hopes to an imminent West Ham transfer but that has not turned out to be the case.

The Senegal international has scored 12 goals in 17 games this season and is said to to be more of a David Moyes type player than Sebastien Haller and usually plays the lone striker role for the French side.

He is described as powerful, has explosive pace and is a real menace for opposing defenders, a description that could also bee used to describe Michail Antonio.

It appears the Hammers are yet to make a formal bid for Dia but things can move very fast in the world of transfers.

Not for me, against top defenders in the PL will struggle, I keep saying it lets back Moyes now and only but quality.

  • Phil McDonald says:

Aren’t 5 of his 12 goals penalties? Makes his numbers far less impressive eh?

    • Fred says:

Yes. Same thing happened with Haller who also took penalties. The penalties get added to their goal tally and makes people think they are better than they are.

  • Terry says:

Can’t be that great if he can’t get past Jose Fonte who must be in his fifties by now since I thought he was at the end of his career when he played for West Ham.

  • Collin says:

Plays very deep if he’s supposed to be a striker. Looks more like a right winger to me.
