West Ham’s Head of Media relations, Max Fitzgerald will be leaving the Hammers this Saturday to join Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers as their Communications chief as they bid for Premier League promotion.
Max joined the club in the summer of 2016 when his predecessor Paul Stringer joined the Premier League. He was previously the head of media and communications at AFC Bournemouth and is a lifelong Cherries fan.
Coincidentally Bournemouth was his first game in his role as head of media for West Ham and it will also be his last game this Saturday when he departs.
Max became a recognisable figure at press conferences with Slaven Bilic and David Moyes.
New recruit Ben Campbell will take over the reigns for the remainder of the season while the club advertises the role for a new head of media. Ben joined from Milton Keynes Dons where he was their Head of media relations.
Claret and Hugh wish Max the very best in his new job.
I think Slaven played him on the right wing and at right back a couple of times did he not?
Ha ha. I think he had problems with his hamstrings so we had to move him on….
Wouldn’t mind seeing Toni go on loan there Nuno did want him & he would have good service there.
Let’s hope he can control their owners shyte-spewing better than he did ours!
