West Ham, transfers and Palhina.

All this transfer talk is making me feel quite dizzy. Admittedly a lot of so-called links are just paper talk but let us have a look at some of the more likelier ones

There is pressure on the Irons to move swiftly to try and get a replacement for Declan Rice with our new shiny cheque book.

There are a few possible candidates; as we have been reported to have already put a £30m bid in for the Moroccan International Sofyan Amrabat at Fiorentina

Our Supremo is also very keen on the £13m Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria, whist hardly a week goes by without someone mentioning Manchester United’s Scott McTominay  as an option.

The James Ward-Prowse saga rumbles on with a bid of around £20m on the table, despite the Saints’ desire to hold out for £40m, and according to various news outlets the Irons are expected to step up their efforts to sign the England international over the next few days.

But the main target still seems to be Fulham`s Joao Palhina. West Ham have already offered £40m for the midfielder, but the Cottagers are holding out for a lot more than that

Why is he worth so much?

Last season his performances for Fulham in the Premier League last season threw up some extraordinary statistics. He made 47 more tackles than any other player , and he also averaged 1.8 interceptions per game

If we can keep the price to around £40m, he would be an excellent replacement for the now departed Rice.
