West Ham are set to face a familiar challenge from former boss David Moyes as both the Hammers and Everton pursue a Manchester United striker.
Joshua Zirkzee has featured just four times for Man United this season, all as a substitute. Reports now suggest he is demanding a January exit in pursuit of regular football to boost his chances of making the Dutch squad for the 2026 World Cup.
West Ham were heavily linked with the 24-year-old earlier this week, at the same time as reports connected the club with Real Madrid’s Endrick.
While a Claret & Hugh transfer source played down the likelihood of signing Endrick, they did not rule out a move for Manchester United flop Zirkzee.
Moyes Eyes Old Trafford for Solutions
It now appears Everton boss David Moyes could return to his old stomping ground at Old Trafford to fix his faltering strikeforce.
Moyes cannot seem to decide between Thierno Barry or Beto as his main striker for the Toffees, and it is fair to say he is not convinced by either. Despite Zirkzee’s lack of game time under Ruben Amorim, he remains highly regarded by some.
Nuno Espírito Santo is known to have put out feelers for a striker in January, with a West Ham source calling it a “priority”. While it is not confirmed whether Zirkzee is on Nuno’s wanted list, he has not been ruled out — so it could be a case of watch this space, unless Everton beat the Hammers to the punch.

lol, if there’s another club involved irrespective of who it is, he’ll probably go there.
The way we’re run, getting a bit of a reputation as a “no go zone”.
I think Zirkzee is decent and Amorim has not given him a fair crack of the whip.
We’re not as big a “no go zone” as Manchester United. Go there as a world class prospect and you’re guaranteed to leave a laughing stock or massive disappointment.
