West Ham Transfers: Eye Watering Numbers of Duran Loan Deal Revealed

Image for West Ham Transfers: Eye Watering Numbers of Duran Loan Deal Revealed

West Ham stand no chance of signing Jhon Duran on loan, Claret & Hugh have been told this afternoon.

The former Aston Villa striker and Hammers target has struggled to adjust to life since moving to the Saudi Pro League in January. As a result, the Colombian has been made available for loan by his club Al-Nassr FC, and West Ham have been named among the interested clubs.

However, after speaking to a transfer insider involved in multiple past Hammers deals, it’s been made clear that Duran won’t be turning up at the London Stadium anytime soon.

“The club [Al-Nassr] want a £5m loan fee for the season—and that’s just the tip of the iceberg,” our source revealed.

“They also want 100% of the player’s salary covered, which is £380k per week after tax. There’s no way West Ham can afford that.”

It won’t come as a surprise to Hammers fans that the best chance to sign Duran was last summer, when the club’s haggling killed any realistic chance of a deal. Duran and his agent were reportedly set on a move to East London, but West Ham’s failure to meet Aston Villa’s £37m valuation saw the deal collapse.

That was followed by what was described as an embarrassing effort to sign the striker in January, before he eventually joined the Saudi Pro League.

As things stand, Duran won’t be moving to West Ham—and at those eye-watering figures, there won’t be too many clubs that can afford him either.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Even if Westham were prepared to pay the 30 million for 1 season , there’s no way Duran would ever come after how badly he was treated . End of story .

  • John Ayris says:

Could have been ours for what was speculated to be £3M more but guess who wouldn’t pay and said go and get someone cheaper…

The really bizarre thing being that he would have been worth at least the amount being asked for him the instant he signed a long deal.

If we don’t do better than that this window I fear for next season.

I would not want to be negative towards you Hugh in anyway but I have got to agree with your other followers. I put my opinions on here and respect other fans opinions after all that is what makes your site interesting. Sorry mate but rather than putting something on here just for the sake of it I would rather prefer you write something that has foundation. I actually do know people who work at the club and they dismiss 95% of your posts so please try to post on here news that is factual.

It’s the same old story they say we are trying to sign this player that player it just goes on and on truth would be nice for a change all this crap comes out every window we all know that Sullivan won’t spend the money required to bring in the best so we end up buying a has been just because he was on top of his position once even tho those days are gone we still sign them we desperately need new owners ones that have the ambition to get us to the next level ones that will show the fans respect and are truthful about how things stand it’s been a very long time since that was the case at our great club Sullivan and co need to go

    • barkingsidebob says:

Sullivan has been doing it for year Even when he was at Birmingham City they would be identified in buying Maldini or Ronaldo. Then sell a load of season tickets through interest.and then buy some donkey from Crewe or Macclesfield.whats changed??

Just to take one point from your post BennyBoy,
West Ham (Like many other clubs) have been subject of multiple potential deals that will not happen, that’s football ‘journalism, has been for decades.
      BUT
      West Ham have been buying ‘has-been’ players long long time;
      Just to name a few:
Freddie Ljungberg, Nobby Solano, Luis Boa Morte, Teddy Sheringham, Rebrov, Malky McKay, Chris Powell, Rob Lee, Brian Dean, Les Ferdinand, Van De Gouw, Stuart Pearce, Winterburn, Davor Sukor, Ian Wright, Razor Ruddock, etc
all the way back to John Radford & Jimmy Greaves,

And none of these signings had anything to do with David Sullivan.

  • Sid says:

Who is this transfer insider then? Not Sean Whetstone by any chance?

  • Paul Basnett says:

Was anything anymore obvious? It would help if the links are realistic!

  • Paul says:

It’s the usual from journalists. ‘contact made’ ‘representatives sent’ ‘interest reignited’ ‘sensational chance’. BS season is here. Thing is with West Ham, BS season lasts all season.

  • Beyond caring now says:

    Wow….I honestly don’t believe it.
I thought he was nailed on to join West Ham alongside Messi and Mbappe and now thanks exclusively to someone contacting you from the club just to let you know he won’t be coming to West Ham and if he did we’d have to pay all of his wages even though I’m sure you stated on here a short while ago that his club was very sympathetic to his cause and would pay most of his salary….rest assured though I will sleep soundly tonight knowing that West Ham won’t be signing any player that you have named on here for the last month or so…..
It’s all bs on here,we’re linked with this player that player but nothings ever concrete…
Why don’t you try this for a novel approach, actually write something that is worth writing about and actually has some credibility behind it instead of all the bs that we read on here..
Be serious ,did any West Ham fan ever think we’d be getting Duran on loan this window 😂🤣😂 nope no one did……

  • Phil says:

The land of negativity ……also we haven’t had poverty bleating over the last 2 days

  • West Ham Voice says:

You could honestly not make this claret and high bullshit up

One article has suggested that West Ham have made an enquiry and that al Nassr are sympathetic to Durans situation and will pay a large chunk of his wages to ensure that the player has a season where he can adjust and hopefully return to Saudi. Yet this article suggests the complete opposite

No wonder no one ever takes no notice of what c&h report with any seriousness anymore

  • tom says:

the club called Gonzo and C&H and told them that.

Phew, thanks guys what would we do without you!
