West Ham have reportedly joined Juventus in the race for a Tottenham midfielder, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Spurs midfielder previously played under Hammers boss Graham Potter during their time at Brighton and certainly fits the profile of midfielder West Ham are said to be targeting.
That said, a couple of key concerns make me question whether thereās any real substance to this particular rumour.
Firstly, if Potter genuinely wanted Bissouma in his squad, the ideal opportunity came when Mohammed Kudus was linked with a move to Tottenham. West Ham could have insisted on a part-exchange deal or at least attempted to secure the Mali international on a season-long loan. The fact that neither option was pursuedāor even mentionedāsuggests there may be no serious interest.
Then thereās the matter of age. Bissouma turns 29 next month, which doesnāt align with the clubās stated goal of lowering the squadās average age and bringing in younger players.
All things considered, this rumour feels like one of the least credible among the latest batch of gossip column claims.
And given that Daniel Levy paid around Ā£30 million to sign Bissouma from Brighton, heās unlikely to let him go on the cheap.

why would we want Spurs cast offs Potter was wrong about Ferguson why would this be any different
